Galen had just escaped from his country. His country was currently going through a lot, and people were dying in large numbers. They had a king who would rather see his people die than be content with the land he had. Galen was determined to start a good life for himself in Voulhire, but how far can a refugee go? Rowan, his uncle's executor, was responsible for getting Galen settled in his new home. A quest for iron for Galen's new blacksmith shop led them to a strange discovery. They must find answers to the questions that came with that discovery. While these two were bothered by the questions and goals, darkness was slowly creeping over Voulhire. Would Voulhire turn out to be a replica of Galen's country in time?

We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a fantasy novel with many distinct features. Before I go any further, I'd like to point out that this is the first of nine books in the We are Voulhire series. One of its unique features is that it has several characters you would never see in a single story. There were priests, monks, kings, mages, and technocrats in the story. I wondered how all these could mix up and make a beautiful story. I was surprised, and I enjoyed that surprise.

I did not dislike a single atom in We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies. There was no point in pressing my dislike button. I hope this is the case for the other books in the series.

I liked that Matthew Tysz did not rush anything in We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies. His book description said that We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies was mainly an introduction to Voulhire and its people. You may wonder why he needed over 100 pages to do that. If you read it, you'll see that so much happened in this book at different times and places. That is why it does not have one central character. This unique style where no character could claim the title of "main character" is what I liked the most about We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies. It gave the book a different feel from most books out there.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies had no errors. Matthew Tysz edited it exceptionally well, and I have noticed this trend in most of his works. It also gave me an introductory trip to Voulhire. I cannot wait to read the remaining books in the series because I am officially hooked. We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies was a fantastic read, and I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this to you if you love fantasy novels that are filled with adventures.
