Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, written by Matthew Tysz, is a fiction about a kingdom where kings, queens, soldiers, citizens, and magical beings live and coexist together. This book is a classic good vs. evil story. The emperor of the Land of the Princes has four sons who each rule a different island, which turns it into a war zone due to greed and power. One of the characters the reader follows is Galen Bray, a boy who escaped from the Land of the Princes to Voulhire when he inherited his late uncle's wealth. King Wilhelm rules over Voulhire but with time, tension starts to grow between everyone, along with some evil and darkness. The story focuses on several of the characters from the kingdom of Voulhire who start to interact with each other, where the individual stories of each character start to overlap. We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is the first book in the We Are Voulhire series. To find out how the kingdoms coexist, read this book.
What I liked about this book is that the author has the ability to keep the readers glued to the story by keeping them on their toes. You know something should happen, yet you don't expect it when it does. The author also included information about Voulhire and the multiverse, such as a map at the beginning of the book that gives the whole storyline something visual to refer back to and a glossary called Voulhire: A reference guide for the readers to understand the more difficult words. The author did a great job connecting the different stories.
There is nothing I did not like about this book. The storyline was interesting and full of excitement as well as action, it has valuable life lessons and some important morals, and the characters were great and engaging.
Overall, I rate We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz 4 out of 4 stars. The book is professionally well-edited I found no grammatical errors. The author used a mix of modern and Queens English, which makes this book relatable and understandable. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the We Are Voulhire series.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a sci-fi genre storyline with a magical theme. Lovers of fantasy fiction would find the book very interesting and enjoyable.
