The story in Genesis Awakens by Akorede Adekoya and Howard Haugom begins with scenes from Jerusalem 327 AD. Empress Helena had instructed her subjects to find where Jesus had been buried. She lost all her guard to an assassin who sought after what the Empress had discovered. She used the nails she had taken from Jesus' grave to harm the assassin and get away. The bad people had come for the nails.

When Genesis came back from studying abroad her grandfather had passed on. She vowed to stop using Molly as a sign of respect to her granddad. He'd always taught her stories from the Bible about courage and other things. Her family refused to tell her how he died. She did not believe the story they told her about how he died. She knew it to be false. She went to the ranch where her granddad was found dead. She found his old Bible on the ground. Above her was a loose wood. She tried to correct it, and immediately she found herself in another world. She saw the crucifixion of Jesus.

This was a very interesting read. From the moment I read the first page, I couldn't stop until I reached the last page. I finished the book in one sitting. The authors did a good job with the narration of the book. It was also a short read which made me yern for more. I commend the writers for using different stylistic devices like humor and suspense to make the book interesting. These were among the things that I liked in the book.

While reading the book I did not spot any grammatical errors, editorial mistakes or typing errors. The book must have been well edited. I spotted the use of a bit of vulgar language but it wasn't too much. It did not affect my enjoyment or understanding of the book. Also, it did not influence my liking, or rating of it either. In general, I did not gather any negative thoughts about the book or the authors. I think they did a good job.

I would like to rate this book as 4 out 4 because I enjoyed reading it. The story was well paced and the characters well-developed. It was humorous and very entertaining. I would recommend it to lovers of historical fiction because it's guided by ancient stories and majorly gets its background of the story of Jesus. Anyone looking to enjoy a good book or to pass the time would enjoy themselves reading it.
