For the reader looking for an exhilarating roller-coaster ride, this is a must read. Apocalypse Reckoning 2.0 by W.A. Singleton takes you on a journey that will make you think twice about what tomorrow could hold in store.

The story starts off with The Burned Man, who struggles to survive the weather and various other elements including the results of scientific experiments by the sadistic Dr. Zane. He has a dog who is his partner and friend through this emotional and physical journey with the end destination in mind. He was a disciple in the world of Dr. Zane and his experiments, however meeting William and Jeanie-Marie Stewart, he, with their assistance in removing the parasite in his body, as well as bringing him onto a path of self-realization, hope, faith in tomorrow and belief of a brighter future for all, is able to rid himself of the stronghold Dr. Zane and his scientists had on him. Hopeful of an end to the horrors he trudges through to reach the end which would put a new tomorrow and a new future, fighting for survival every step of the way.

We are then taken to the lives of Marcus Gavriil one of the few black counselors at a drug rehabilitation center, his wife Mia, a FBI agent, who has strong religious ties in contrast to her husband, also a health fanatic attempting to get her husband to eat better and change his diet to become healthier and lose some weight. They have their grandchildren who live with them and they share great love and unity.

Tia an addict on the road to rehabilitation who is thrown into this roller-coaster ride and taking Marcus Gavriil, Mia Gavriil, Pastor John Gray and the seventy year old Greta Garbo along with her through a suspense filled array of events.

Pastor John Gray amidst all the horrors of today, realizes that he has experienced the same twenty years ago, understanding that the unexpected, unbelievable situation he witnessed in the past in fact is the reality of today, however the experiments have taken a turn for the worse and insects, animals and humans have now become the target of the horrific scientific experiments with parasites taking over the lives of all they touch.

We also meet Aleeyah the daughter of William and Jeanie-Marie Stewart who has survived the mutations of Dr. Zane's experiments on her own, in search of the place promised to bring all to an end. Meeting The Burned Man and discovering that he holds himself responsible for the death of her parents the two endure the trip working together, first with mistrust and then relying on each other for the survival to the end.

Positive aspect is that the book uses a timeline demarcating events from present, past and a hopeful future, to assist the reader in keeping up to date with who is who and how the past effected the future.

There are no negative aspects in my opinion. Although not professionally edited there are very few to no errors in the editing.

Readers will be left impatiently awaiting the follow-up sequence to the end of the beginning.

This book is recommended for persons who enjoy the thrill and suspense, along with the faith and hope although not a religious book, the strong faith and belief is what brings the chance of survival so much closer.

3 out of 4 I have selected this rating as the book is good and I would recommend it to others as a good read and I am sure I would enjoy the follow-up, however it does not have the character to be amazing or excellent in my opinion.
