Review of Seeking the Light of Justice
Dr. Yoshua Rosenberg is an accomplished archeologist, an internationally renowned academic and author. In his latest quest to garner more stories about the fabled king, The Light of Justice, he comes across a rare artifact that launches a chain of events that spans two continents, implicates the Vatican, and involves the highest echelons of the US, Spanish and Israeli Governments. As he traverses across Europe in a bid to learn more about the Hoshiyan Chronicles, Yoshua and his team come across the havoc wrecked by the injustices unleashed on the Jewish community and the devastating consequences brought about by the subsequent cover up dating back to the fifteenth century. With the support of his friends and family, Yoshua overcomes one adversity after another and continues to find strength and sometimes answers in his Jewish faith in a world that’s more often than not, characterized by barbaric acts perpetrated by human kind.
The historical depictions in Seeking the Light of Justice have piqued my interest in the history of Jews in Europe. It’s a continuous process but I’ve sought out more information about the Spanish Inquisition and the history of the Catholic Church because of this book.
I appreciated the family values and the importance of friendships I found in these pages.
The author, Dr. Barry Nadel, depicts the strength one can draw from the unwavering love of family and friends. I might not fully agree with how they have chosen to go about supporting Yoshua discover his heritage but I understand that sometimes doing the right thing and being right are two completely different things.
Unfortunately the book was poorly edited which in turn made it hard to enjoy because I sometimes had to read a sentence just to be sure I hadn’t misread a word or misunderstood the sentence.
I also understand the characters depicted in Seeking the Light of Justice are deeply religious and live their lives guided by the Jewish religion but I found the prayers a bit repetitive.
I give the book 2 out of 4 stars primarily because the book doesn’t appear to have been edited professionally. I also think the relationship between Dr. Berger and Dr. Jamerson could have been explored at a much deeper level instead of the short timeline it was given. It would have made much more sense if it had been explored further in the next book.
I would recommend this book to individuals who enjoy reading thrillers with a hint of Sci-Fi.
