Review of Wrath of Justice
Paranormal fantasy has always been a genre that interests me. I have always like the idea of living in a world different from ours. With paranormal fantasy, one can go to a whole different version of earth.
Wrath of Justice tells the story of Justice, a slave turned bounty hunter and Cassie, a half-breed demon. Justice was supposed to bring Cassie for his boss as requested by the demon. The book was set in a futuristic world where demons and greedy, powerful people reigned supreme, while the rest of the masses suffered greatly. Justice and his partner, Mike go to bring the half-breed demon, who is being kept in hiding with the aid of a witch.
The story progresses and we meet Cassandra. She has been trapped behind the walls of her parents' property all her life, supposedly for her own safety. She is rescued by Justice and thrown defenceless into another part of the world. Would Justice and Mike be able to bring the half-breed demon? How would Cassandra survive outside her parents' protection?
This book had some positive aspects. To start with, its diction is really nice. I felt it was flowing seamlessly and smoothly. This book was well written. Denna Holm is an exciting storyteller and I enjoyed reading her work. The characters were depicted in ways that made them almost relatable. I could feel their emotions even without going through what they have. The behaviours portrayed by the characters tell us more about human nature. The author portrayed her characters well; I particularly enjoyed the characters of Justice, Cassie and Mike. This book was a scintillating read, entrancing the reader till the very last page. Also, I found no errors in the book; this leads me to think that it was exceptionally well edited.
This book also has its negative aspects. I believe that the book was just a bit on the fast paced side. Although most people would not mind it, I felt I could have appreciated the book better if details were not being rushed.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I immensely enjoyed the book. I found myself hardly putting it down till I was done with it. It was a very interesting book.
I recommend this book to lovers of paranormal fantasy. The light romance made it all the more interesting. Due to its strong language, I would not recommend this book to people below the age of sixteen.
