Following the Great War which has decimated over 99% of the world's population, leaving it's society and structures in ruins, those who survived are riddled with the dilemma - to put faith in some prophecy of a saviour or give up all hope and live the remainder of their days drunk, in tears and in self pity. Having chosen the latter, Jane Grace, protagonist and central character of the Post Apocalyptic series, simply exists in this New World, helping many others who survived in her city yet unable to help herself. Jane Grace is a survivor of the Great War in the City of Rubelle. She lives alone in her apartment, or what is left of it, frequently plagued by nightmares. Unable to deal with these afflicting dreams and memories, she turns to winebibbing. The New World appears to bode nothing but ill-will to those who managed to escaped death, yet some still put their faith in stories of the Watchers, the Chosen and the World Council, believing the latter would come and save them all. Jane Grace has no time for such fables. The turn of events begins when the World Council arrives in the City of Rubelle and Jane is chosen as the correspondent of her city because of her numerous good deeds in helping other survivors. She is introduced to David Trimere, leader of the World Council, builder of the City of New Atlantis, and generally, a man of intrigue. He is believed by many in the New World to be the Chosen.
Follow Jane Grace and her friends in this riveting young adult fiction as they unravel these mysteries - What is the true identity of David Trimere, is he the Chosen, if not Who? What are his motives for building the City of New Atlantis? Who are the Watchers? Is there any hope left? They must discover for themselves the truth of it all for the fate of the world surely depends on it.

I found the reading of Jane Grace: Library of Light extremely delightful. It is the first book in the series. I specifically enjoyed the Post-Apocalyptic theme as well as it's central character, whom I admire. The writer, Trace Sonnleitner, deserves much accolades for the seamless intertwining of normal and supernatural, of myths, mystics and new technology, making the reading experience a lot more suspense-filled. His communication was simple and gave no hassle envisioning scenes and moments. He also accurately painted the devastated world, including the fault lines, destroyed buildings and dust hued atmosphere.

I found nothing negative to write about the book, I truly enjoyed every moment of it. Most especially the aforementioned composition of technology and magic all in one plot.

I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. The errors found in the book were few and far between which shows that it was professionally edited and for which I cannot deduct a star. I personally enjoyed every turn in the book as things slowly climaxed to the end of the first book and the beginning of the second one in the sequel.

I recommend the book to readers that enjoy dystopian and Post-Apocalyptic themes, as well as young adult fiction. There was no religious content and the sexual content was kept at bare minimum, making it a book suitable for all ages.
