The book, Tales from the Gray Area is a fantasy and fictional novel written by Curtis Stephen Burdick. In this book, the author has complied seven novellas that are different from each other and are set in unique backgrounds.

This book is around 350 pages long divided into seven novellas. It has stories about reincarnation, archeology, paleontology, extraterrestrial creatures, superpowers, etc. The author has fabricated these novellas fabulously. Every story is distinctive and engrossing with vivid characters, settings, and plots. The author’s writing style is crisp and clear which makes it easier for people to read.

Two of my most favorite novellas are, “Reincarnated” and “Discoveries of River View.” “Reincarnated” is about the ancient cryptic Harappan birthmark present on the necks of newborn babies, which is investigated by a team of doctors and professors. “Discoveries of River View” is about paleontology and archeology, in which a fossilized skeleton of a dinosaur and child is found on the riverbank. These plots are quite intriguing, especially of Reincarnated. I was extremely curious to know their climax.

The best thing about this book is that all the stories are completely divergent from each other and are peculiarly mysterious in their own way. This keeps the reader completely hooked. I could hardly put the book down. The author’s imagination and creativity are highly appreciable. He has shown some intense work here. Creating an extensive variety of fantasy and mystery in every novella is truly praise-worthy. It looks like the author has made sure that he delivers a piece of his work to every type of fantasy story-lover.

Overall, I had a great time reading this book, and there is nothing much that I disliked about this. The author has explained the scenes in detail that helps the reader to imagine them better. However, the book would have been better for me if it had some images or illustrations in it. Like, it would be nice to see how the birthmark on the neonates look like, the appearance of aliens, fossils, etc. I assume that this book is professionally edited as I did not find any errors while reading it. With that being said, I rate Tales from the Gray Area 4 out of 4 stars.

I highly recommend Tales from the Gray Area to anyone who is interested in reading sci-fi and fantasy novels. It has novellas of different themes that give it a wide range of audiences. This does contain profanity and some amount of violence. So, people sensitive to such content have to read this with caution.

I like the writing style and all, but supernatural and paranormal stuff is not for me! I think I will skip this one. Thanks for the great review!

I had a blast reading this book too. The imagination of the author is out of this world.

Wow! This sounds like an awesome book! I would love to read about the dinosaur discovery and the mysterious birthmark. And I agree with your point that illustrations would help readers enjoy the stories even more. The author may want to consider including some in a future edition of the book.

Thank you for a great review! I've added this to my bookshelves.

I hope this book will not be the boring, overly descriptive, type of books. Thank you for your review!
