[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]

[rwc=id373763-125]3 out of 4 stars.[/rwc]Galen runs away from the Lands of the Princes due to the continuous war in the region. Saved by the captain, Galen manages to sail to Voulhire among other people on board. On his arrival at Magnum Caelum, he is quickly noticed and introduced to the mayor. The mayor and Rowan shows him around town on different occasions as Galen slowly gets acquainted with his new home. He is eager to start a new life by learning the blacksmith business as part of the inheritance from his uncle Onita.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz, is an intriguing book that has both magic and religion co-existing among the people of Voulhire. Among the characters is King Wilhelm Arcolo, the king of Voulhire.

What I love about this book is the style of narration that the author uses. The author uses a mixture of the first point of view on Galen’s story and the third point of view in other narrations. This points out how the whole story revolves around Galen in different ways.

I however find that the author uses very little humor in his narration. To add to that, the book has too many characters with difficult names making it hard to follow each character as the story builds up.

I rate this book a 3 out of 4 stars.

I would recommend this book to young adults and those who love fantasies but not children because of the adult language used by the writer.
