I wonder if I need to be a Philosopher or a Physicist or even a Chemist to read the book Worldlines. If I don’t intend to change my profession but still insist on reading the book, why shouldn’t I simply attribute the events and happenings in the book to fantasies and wishful thinking of Gary Jackson, the narrator of the story?. However, I wouldn’t be doing justice to the book if I were to ignore the efforts of the half a dozen or so scientists, chemists, and attorneys who pooled in their efforts to solve the mysterious events created by Gary Jackson in skipping across Multi Worlds in search of his wants and desires. I therefore sidetracked and took time off to quickly scan through the article quoted by the author Adam Guest in his acknowledgments to the author of,” 10 Mind-Bending Implications of the Many Worlds theory”. Guest appears to have deliberately but tacitly diverted the attention of the reader to the article. For the likes of me who caught the hint and read the article, the Many Worlds theory explains the title of the book Worldlines and saves the embarrassment of not being a knowledgeable reader of Quantum Physics, Parallel Worlds, Multi Worlds, etc. The diversion to the article may help them read the book in one go rather than turn back pages to re-read previous pages to establish a connection.
Assuming Multi-World theories are proven, Multi- Worlds would turn out to be a multi-stage, where similar events happen under different scenarios with different actors and different outcomes under the directions of Gary Jackson. We realize that the entire book is a collection of dreams. Lucid dreams in fact where the dreamer is aware that he is dreaming. Dreams which are real and may be controlled by the dreamer. With the addition of yet another theoretical concept on dreams, I decided to refer to Freud for his expertise on Dream Theory. “He posits that all dreams represent the fulfillment of a wish on the part of the dreamer and maintains that even anxiety dreams and nightmares are expressions of unconscious desires” (Freud P., 1918)
Gary is at the crossroads. Which choice to make. Both equally desired, both close to his heart, both real as can be. Hence a dream. One choice remains. No Multi-Worlds, no Parallel worlds, no Quantum Physics just a package of dreams.“It may be seen how conveniently the dream is capable of arranging matters" (Freud P., 1918). Gary decides to eliminate one choice by removing it from the scene and decides to choose another. An unconscious desire is fulfilled. Repentance follows as Gary punishes himself for letting go of his loved one.

I found the book interesting since I enjoyed taking a piggyback ride with Gary across Worlds built around dreams and wishes and unproven theories. I loved it when I shared Gary’s experience in splitting his personality into three. A criminal, a scientist, and a disabled person just out of rehab.

Whereas the book is professionally edited, repetitions such as the description of the London Underground tend to make it irritating since it disturbs the reading flow.

I would rate the book 3 out of 4 stars since it is professionally edited and based on scientific theories although not yet proven.I do maintain that anyone can read the book and enjoy it as long as he/she can interpret it with an open mind.
