The book The Wanting Hearts by Nicole Jordan is a collection of five stories from his series, painting a swirl of varied human emotions in the reader’s mind. A truck driver by profession, Jordan portrays for us what his creative mind creates while he is on the go, and he then pens it on paper for us. The stories intricately weave human reactions to life and the supernatural elements in an amazing and heart wrenching experience.

What I really liked about this book was that how clearly it can portray bittersweet realities of life even in the paranormal and supernatural settings chosen by the author; how people react to a major change in their life that shakes their world, and lets us know that there is not always a happy ending for a lot of people. It is also explicitly well edited as I could not spot a single spelling error or grammatical mistake.

On the other hand, because of a lot of fantasy and supernatural settings, they are not always completely relatable to an everyday life. Some parts might seem a little too unrealistic, so much so that normal events and imagination seems to be awkwardly forced together.

To rate the book The Wanting Hearts by Nicole Jordan, I would give it 3 out of 4 stars because though it has good storylines and powerful writing style, if all the intricate events and planning was to be a little smoother, the stories would become a little more relatable.

This book is definitely a good and light read for young adults, as they are the most frequent protagonists in these, though people of middle age group might also enjoy it. It could also interest those who enjoy science fiction and supernatural genres. I wish best of luck to the author, and look forward to his work in the future.
