The King of May is a great fictional book written by Matthew Tysz. This production is the second in a series of books called the Turn series. The book contains fantasy, action and horror events in a post-apocalyptic world. After the turn, things change and confusion prevails among the people. The turn also brings into existence beings with special abilities called gods. The book presents two heroes, Ashley and Scholar, who are responsible for the death of Oak. The Oak is responsible for the turn. After the death of the Oak the gods began to turn against each other. One of the gods was the King of May. The king was revolting. He was described as being ugly but having pretty blue eyes. The king also loved to dance.

Cattleprod continues to conquer and obtain territories. The king seeks to establish an alliance between him and Cattleprod but he fails. The king then seeks to eliminate Cattleprod. When Ashley and Scholar seek to meet with the king, he holds Ashley hostage and demands that for Ashley to be freed Cattleprod must die. What happens next? Does Cattleprod die? What happens to Ashley and Scholar? Are the gods immortal and what impact do they have? Read this book to satisfy your curiosity.

I enjoyed reading this book. The character development is top notch in this book. The author really shapes the characters to bring out unique attributes. For example, the relationship between Ashley and Scholar is unique and intriguing. The two characters complement each other perfectly. Ashley is Presented as tolerant while Scholar is clever and calm. The descriptive language used is vivid and I could almost visualize the characters appearances and the events happening in the book. For instance, the first description of the king was outstanding. The author describes his neck being like a pillow wrapped under his head.

The plot created is unique. The ability to come up with a completely new world of fantasy and describe it with so much depth is mind blowing. The author presents the reader with a world which has gods who have special abilities and powers. Having read other books written by Matthew Tysz, I appreciate his uniqueness in plot creation and character development. This book is really intriguing and it is worth your time. The book is well edited and therefore easy to navigate through and understand the concepts.

However, I faced some difficulties while reading this book. Having not read the first book of the series was a great disadvantage to me. It was difficult to grasp the content at first since everything was foreign to me. However, with time as I read the book I became conversant with the content. I would advise anyone who wants to read this book to start with the first book of the series.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book deserves this rating because of the captivating and distinctive plot development. The characters are also unique. The description of events is splendid. The book is also well edited. This is an amazing book. I was completely engrossed in reading this book. You should definitely give it a try.

This book contains horrifying scenes and therefore it would be suitable to a mature audience. The book also contains some sex scenes and some profanity and would be suitable for adults.I would also recommend this book to any mature audience that enjoys an amazing fiction based book. This book is perfect for you.
