The book The King of May written by Matthew Tsyz is a book about human gods who were elected to be gods when Oak the otherworldly creature passed away. He was responsible for the turn that changed everything about the world.

There was a king who was not loved by many and people were all planning to kill him. We were introduced to him at a party where he and his adviser Dr. Mallory and friends were having fun. On the other hand there was an old man who was about to be executed but the execution failed. War broke out in the small town and he managed to escape with the help of Cattleprod.

Cattleprod was a very powerful young man and was very skillful with the sword. He had issues with the king and the king was looking for him. He helped the old man escape because he wanted his help fighting the king's army. He wanted to have a part in the territory and was helped by a god named Cognito.

He was not the only one trying to recruit fighters. Alden a god also approached Ashely and Scholar to recruit them as warriors to fight against the king and he also wanted them to kill his wife because he wanted the power to summon the wind that she possessed.

This is all I managed to get from the book. Not only was the book the most painful book I have ever read, but also the most confusing story line. I repeated several chapters to try and understand what the writer was on about but I would still miss the story. I didn't like it. The writer Matthew Tysz does not capture his readers from the begin.

The book was well written with no grammar or spelling errors. The book The king of May contained profane language. I rate the book 1 out of 4 for the effort not for the story line.
