Review by Alheotuci -- We are Voulhire: A New Arrival un...
We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is an ongoing series on magic. Meldorath, who was the king’s general and former lord of Hillport, was feared by many. People believed he was dead. There was darkness looming over the people of Hillport. Meldorath had a hold on the people in this city by making them see terrifying things. Eldus became appointed as the new lord of Hillport by the king. He became determined to set things right and to bring hope to the people of Hillport. But will he be able to fulfill his promises and uncover the horrible secrets of Meldorath?
Galen, who has only known survival throughout his life, was to inherit his uncle’s inheritance. Everything in Magnum Caelum, a town in Voulhire, was new to him. He was still discovering himself. To become a great blacksmith, he was on a quest to find a rock that was unknown to many. He is a kind-hearted person. He wanted to make the business flourish, so he decided to do things even his uncle didn’t do. He was a man who always wanted people around him to be comfortable. Despite him not knowing anything about blacksmithing, he was determined.
This book is intriguing as every piece of information and character is connected. In this series, there was a war that was going to occur. Those people who held onto their own beliefs called the Riva Rohavi became the enemy of Voulhire. It is the goal of the Riva Rohavi to destroy Voulhire. Will they be able to achieve their goal? What plans does Meldorath have up to his sleeves? Is Galen going to achieve his objective and become a successful blacksmith? These questions remain unanswered in this book.
The positive aspect of this book is the way the writer made every character connected. The characters didn’t seem out of place, which is something I appreciate. I loved every event that occurred in this book. I appreciate the fact that Matthew Tysz took the time to ensure that no mistake occurred. It was exceptionally edited. I was always excited to read about what was going to happen next. It was a unique story as it is not something that I see every writer do. I love the suspense. I can’t wait to read the second book.
I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars because I didn’t find any error, and it is a beautiful story. Every character came alive in this book. I had a great time reading it. We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is hilarious. There were times when I laughed so hard, and there were times when I was sad to see some characters go. I was fascinated to read about magic and to see how so many people controlled it differently.
I would recommend this book to people that are interested in sci-fi. Also, for people that like to read about magic and adventure, this is the book for you. I’m glad that I came across this novel, and I can’t wait to read the next one. There were words of profanity, which may be sensitive to some readers. It contains some horrific events, which may be disturbing to some readers. I was sad to finish, but I’m so excited to read the next book.
