Review by DianaMich -- We are Voulhire: A New Arrival un...
Galen Bray lives in the Land of the Princes. These lands, owned by four brothers, are a chain of little islands. The brothers are greedy people who want to own everything, so they start a civil war against each other. Galen remembers the war starting when he was little and hasn't stopped for twenty years. So when he gets the chance to leave these lands, he takes it.
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a fantasy book where you follow Galen Bray throughout his journey and the steps he takes to discover this new way of life at Voulhire. The plot follows a few other characters intertwined with Galen's point of view.
The dialogs were engaging and pleasant. I enjoyed Rowan's character, Galen's friend, and liked the way their relationship progresses. The characters are well developed. They are witty, passionate, and genuine. The world-building is fascinating; everything is described in great detail and makes you want to know more about it. Some of the places sound so beautiful you wish to be there.
There's nothing I didn't like about the book. It is well written, and I didn't find any grammatical mistakes. The author's writing is clear and concise. I loved reading about each character's point of view. There are some new words and places created for this story. The book includes a map to see where everyone is at, and at the end, it has a handy reference guide to search the new words.
There were no errors throughout the book. It had great editing and looked very professional. We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz gets a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend it to readers who enjoy fantasy and a little bit of suspense. If you like a story with one point of view, then this book is not for you. The POV changes every few chapters. Also, rape is alluded to but not explicitly described.
