Review by tawongaL -- We are Voulhire: The Knights of Ch...
We are Voulhire: The Knights of Chalethire by Matthew Tysz is the fourth book in its series. Throughout history, we have been told of legendary stories of knights. The word knight, has now become affiliated to feelings of safety and, strong men in armour. This book is all about knights and their prowess in the land of Voulhire.
Matthew Tysz brings out the uniqueness of one group of knights in this fourth book. He concentrates on how their abilities and strengths are unlike the others. As you read, you tend to feel a pull to the knights in question. This pull can be either negative or positive depending on your personal moral standard.
There are two things I loved about this book. Throughout the series, I have been eager to see a shadow, but main character be moved from behind the curtains and come forth into the spotlight. The promise of this finally happening, made me extremely excited!
The second thing I love about this book is the leader of the knights of Chalethire. Seeing such a leader put to light, made my toes curl up! I would have never expected the knights to be led by this character, but yet again, Matthew Tysz did the unexpected.
I did not like the plot of the story. I do not think the story in this book was well expressed. As a result, a new reader to the series, who may start with this fourth book, would not be able to completely understand why and what was going on. Despite this, having read the series from the beginning, I can not hold this against the author because it is what I would call a conjunction book; a book that attaches two other books, one that comes before and the one that comes after, to make the story full and complete.
The book was well edited and I would say professionally. The author has the writing skill that makes readers more engaged, as a result of great grammar and punctuation. I found no mistakes. The editing team on this book did a spotless job. Having said the above, and taking note that I can’t take the plot of the story against the author, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
I would recommend all readers of this book or those who would want to read it, to first read the preceding books in order to understand the flow of We are Voulhire: The Knights of Chalethire by Matthew Tysz. To all who would love a thrilling story focused on knights, this is the book for you.
