[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]

[rwc=id373763-125]4 out of 4 stars.[/rwc]We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a book of very well-written 173 pages. The start of the plot itself is with a very interesting set of events which does a great job of grabbing the reader’s attention from the first chapter.

The story is about a kingdom named Voulhire. The land is a prosperous, peaceful, and flourishing kingdom which is beautifully described by Matthew Tysz. The land of Voulhire is ruled by a very beloved king named Wilhelm Arcolo; who is known for his honesty and fairness. Kingdom Voulhire’s story starts with a young man named Galen Bray reaching there. The young fellow has encountered hardship and torture from a very tender age in his life because of where he lived, Lands of the Princes. The place is known for cruel punishments and tough survival chances for small businessmen. The people residing there have seen wars between the princes more than anything else. His luck turns in his favor when his great-uncle from Voulhire makes him an heir to his entire fortune and gives him a ticket out of the Lands of the Princes.

One of the towns from Voulhire named Hillport is named a new lord, Lord Eldus Alderman. The people of this town are still terrified because of their previous leaders. Lord Eldus makes this as his motive to help these people heal and bring the shanty place to prosperity. The story keeps on taking twists and turns as it proceeds with the magic in Voulhire, Lord Meldorath, and his death mystery. Will Lord Eldus succeed or will he face enemies he knows nothing about? Will Galen be able to live his life happily?

I absolutely loved Matthew Tysz’s writing style. The descriptions and narration of the story are crisp and precise. I loved how he detailed the beautiful description of Galen’s divine perspective when he reaches Voulhire and witnesses it for the first time. The story is a comprehensive package of mystery, fantasy, magic, adventure, and political drama. The best part of the book that I found was the well-thought and very clever character development. As the story was progressing, it was easy to realize how much thought has gone into every character and their unique characteristics. I loved how the author has given every character justice.

In the initial chapters where Voulhire is introduced, it is described through three different peoples’ perspectives: Galen, King Wilhelm and, the people of Hillport and Eldus. Through each of these characters' eyes, a different impression of Voulhire is created in the reader’s mind.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story and Matthew Tysz’s way of writing. There was never a dull moment with this book, and I could not stop myself from flipping its pages. However, the only thing I found difficult was remembering the characters and their names as there are too many to follow along with the story initially. But as the story proceeds, they connect very well.

The book is edited professionally, and I found no grammatical errors or typos. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I would recommend everyone who enjoys a mysterious and adventurous read to definitely get your hands on this one. This book does leave you wanting for more and makes you eager to read the next book in the series.

Happy reading!
