Review by emidio125 -- We are Voulhire: The Flesh of the...
Continuing with the science fiction series entitled "We are Voulhire", this time I'm presenting the one deemed as the sixth book in the series We are Voulhire: The Flesh of the Mind by Matthew Tysz. In this story, we will continue to follow the path of our best-known characters. However, new faces will be introduced, faces with important stories to tell and secrets to reveal.
The war with Riva has weakened Voulhire, allowing enemies to make use of the opportunity to conquer the kingdom. But Galen is not going to let that happen, so he leaves the earth heading to Caromentis in an attempt to find the hero who will save the kingdom of Voulhire. Meanwhile, Meldorath finally manages to reach Caromentis, a world guided by the power of the mind and imagination; however, it will not be easy to stay there. Unexpected changes and discoveries await the visitors of Caromentis. Furthermore, this story will introduce you to another powerful leader, Lady Angela, who will prove to you that gender has nothing to do with leadership.
One of the focal points presented in this work is certainly "ambition". What can a man do or how far man is able to go to achieve his ambitions? This is what we are going to see in this story since most of the characters in this story are going to be in a race to accomplish their ambitions, some overthrowing others, and others forming alliances. But all of this guided by the unique desire to fulfill their own ambitions.
I would like to congratulate the author for the great work he did with the storyline, which is very well developed, and not to mention the character development that is excellent. I also liked the way emotions were displayed in the story such as the humor, for instance, the book portrays some dirty jokes maybe dark ones that make the story very funny. However, scenes of violence, sex are explicitly presented in the story making it not suitable for underage readers, or for readers very sensitive to violence. Apart from that, the book is very good and I recommend it to everyone who enjoys science fiction, dark fantasy and to anyone who wants to read a very good story.
The book was professionally edited and written, and I praise the author for that. I only found very few mistakes that didn't convince me enough to give this book less than 4 out of 4 . Just for the record, I would like also to congratulate the author for the glossary he added to the book, so as to help his readers understand better the story.
