Review by emidio125 -- The Sins of a Master Race
The Sins of a Master Race by Matthew Tysz, it is the third book in a series of fiction works named "The Turn". It narrates stories that happen in a period where the planet hearth was affected by a catastrophic event.
Post "Turn" changes continue to unfold, and with them, new threats. and new and more powerful gods are arising to plague humanity. And in the midst of these changes, Scholar, Ashley and Catleprod will continue to fight, with some becoming mercenaries and known god killers, others will continue to expand their kingdoms. Nevertheless, this new adventure will bring a pair of cousins with unusual powers who will join the battle against the gods for the sake of humanity. With political games, betrayals and manipulations, our characters will continue to fight for survival.
Having read other books by Matthew Tysz, it becomes repetitive for me to mention the qualities of his works and his own talent, but since duty demands me to it, I have to do this. In my point of view, Matthew Tysz, is actually one of the best writers I met this year. He is very talented and creative, and his unique way of writing his stories is what makes him so talented. Furthermore, he does not logically follow the distribution of the elements of the narration in his stories, which means that instead of reading a single story to the end, the reader gets to read different episodes in the same story, and often without there being a connection between one episode and another.
One of the things that surprise me in this book is the innovation it presents. Many of the books that portray apocalyptic scenarios usually have similar content (Zombies, destruction of planets, aliens etc). Therefore, in this series "The Turn", the writer showed great creativity in presenting a story that even though it is based on apocalyptic scenarios, presents a totally different story and you realize that as soon as you start reading the books. Moreover, the narrative sequence of this work was very well developed, which shows the level of professionalism and talent of the author. The plot and the storyline, the description of the environment, the characters, everything is very well developed. And I would like to congratulate the author for that. However, I do not recommend this book to minors, as it contains content that is not suitable for minors such as sex and extreme violence. Thus, the book is suitable for adults.
I would like also to congratulate the author for the work he did with the book. It was very well written and edited. I hardly found any mistakes and the ones I noticed didn't convince me enough to give this book less than 4 out of 4 stars .
