The King of May by Matthew Tysz, is a work of fiction, and the second book in a series of novels entitled "The Turn". It narrates a story that happens in a post-apocalyptic period wherEby the survivors have to readapt themselves and fight for their lives in the new world.

Before causing "The Turn", Oak chose human beings to be gods by giving them special powers so that they could guide humanity into the new era. However, power and selfishness go over their heads and conflicts emerge between them leading to conspiracies and betrayals. And in the midst of these conflicts, Ashley, Scholar and Cattleprod seeing the danger the gods represent to humans, must find ways to bring safety back to the world. However, it won't be easy, since they must fight with gods, and the most powerful of them "The King of May" who deems them as obstacles to his plans.

I have confess that when I chose this book I was not very excited, since the first book left me a little disappointed, however, this book exceeded all my specs. The author really showed an incredible evolution with this book, providing a great storyline, character development, drama and so on. All doubts I was left that with in the first book were all clarified in this second book,not to mention the way Matthew Tysz presents the characters in the story, which has become a signature of this author. Since he narrates the story of each character individually,giving each character the opportunity to tell his own story, which gives the reader access to the characters' minds and thoughts.

However, some elements of the narration are presented in a non-logical way, which can confuse readers who are beginning to read the books of this author. It is also important to mention that the language and content presented in this book is not suitable for readers who are younger than 18 or for readers sensitive to scenes of extreme violence. Therefore, I recommend this book to anyone who is over 18 (adults), and also to every fan of good fiction.

It really is a great book, and I cannot wait to read the next one. Furthermore, I also have to congratulate the author; the book was very well written and edited. I hardly found any mistakes, and the ones I found, didn't convince me enough to give this book less than 4 out of 4 stars
