This is a review of the book Steel Reign Flight of the Star-ship Concord written by Braxton Cosby. It was quite good, definitely worth 3 out of 4 stars. The action kept moving, it never got into a lull that made you want to go to sleep it was the slow moving. I actually found myself wanting to keep reading. That is one parameter I use to determine if a book is good or not. Did I want to keep reading or not.

Another aspect of the writing was I was able to get a picture of what the author was describing. The scene where they have arrived at the star-ship, Ellipse, and how people actually got on board, it was easy to visualize doing so. Many scene were such that one could visualize what was occurring and be a part of the action. In other words, the author was able to pull me into the story strong enough to make me a part of it, not just a reader. Robert Jordan is an author that can do that for the reader also.

The book is about a bounty hunter who is trying to save his sister or is being forced to fight for her life in The Gauntlet, sort of gladiator style of survival. In order to accomplish this Reign has to put together a team consisting of a computer hacker/nerd, a alien/being that is capable of synchronizing with a prototype spaceship in order to be able to pilot the craft.

The team is put together and everything is set and the author throws in a twist or two to make the ending suspenseful and worth getting to. It is written in a way that one should expect another book and it should be a series. The story is well written and again it flowed very easily.

There were a few typos in the book, but not enough to distract from the story. My main complaint was the use of "Sheat" and "fook". If one is going to cuss, cuss. These words were used throughout the book and was a slight distraction. Not major but was noticeable. Other than that, a well told story.
