Review by Itssuchyhere_18 -- The Devil's Eclipse
”The Devils Eclipse” written by Christopher Williams is an anthology of strange tales, unnatural occurrences and beings. A series of tales that focuses on unnatural beings that feed on mostly sinners. Those with gruesome deaths are the ones who’ve done the most unforgivable acts. Will you be one who gets visited by these creatures? Or will you be spared? The anthology of tales is mostly made up of alien-looking creatures with unnatural and unsettling features, creatures that were summoned and commanded by Satan himself to cleanse the world of sinners.
As I read the book, I didn’t really notice any grammatical nor punctual errors within the text, nor did I notice any typos that are considered as an eyesore. I feel as if the book is written professionally and was proofread accordingly which I very much appreciate as a reader and reviewer of the book. I have some negative comments in regards of some scenes within the text that I don’t quite agree with, were those of which depicts scenes of rape, stealing, infidelity and prostitution. I also very much dislike the usage of offensive and racist language or slangs within the text but other than those key points or I would say eyesores for me, the book is a good read.
As for my positive comments about the text is that Firstly, it doesn’t have any grammatical nor punctual errors present within its text which I am very pleased about. Secondly, I very much appreciate the fact that the author Christopher Williams, wrote of scenarios that depict how ”People of color” live their lives within the poor communities or neighborhoods of the U.S. Lastly, I also find the book interesting though I am not a fan of the science fiction genre and very few books do capture my attention which is quite the rare occurrence. I was very much captured by the different tales of the book, maybe as I do also have a eerie fascination over the unnatural and unseen features of the Earth. Though, I do not believe in the super terrestrial but I do believe in ghouls and twisted beings that haunt different places within the Earth.
I think possible readers of the book would be of ages 21 and above for it has scenes and words that I believe a young adult would get the wrong influence. It might also cause the wrong understanding for the usage of racial slangs and graphic scenarios within the text but I believe those of ages 21 and beyond has greater understanding of concepts and would most unlikely get the wrong influence and idea of the text.
I would give this book a 3 out of 4 stars. I would’ve given the book a 4 out of 4 stars rating but due to my given key points of disliked portions of the text, I would rate it a star lower but I very much recommend this book to my stated ages of readers as I do believe it is worth the read especially it is a great book for those who very much like the science-fiction genre and people who are fascinated of the unseen and unsettling features of the Earth.
