A genetic scientist by the name of Kaelyn Stonebridge, works in an underwater research facility called the Underground. Kaelyn was one of the first humans to be born from a test tube, he has superior knowledge compared to the other scientists that are there with him. The Underground has all the top scientists from all over the world, they are all working on different projects, but do congregate together when they make a huge break through. The Underground has a system referred to as Zenith. Zenith is their security system, and has control over every aspect of their livelihood as well. If they were wanting to take a hot shower, they would tell Zenith what temperature, or degree, to put the water at. Kaelyn is the top scientist in the Underground, but lately he's been having these strange dreams with a girl he's never seen before, and she knows some things that she shouldn't. With creations no one else should know about, what could these dreams mean?
An author by the name of Lovelin Khan is having a bit of writer's block. Deciding that a change of scenery might help her with writer her next book, she decides to go on a little vacation. The few days before she leaves for her mini vacation she hangs out with her two best friends, Mickaela and Rave. While she is hanging out with her friends, she begins having hallucinations and those eventually lead her to fully blacking out. Who is the man in her visions? What is she seeing in her visions? Are they real, or just imaginary?
I rather enjoyed reading this book, the plot is actually quite good. Although I have to say that during the beginning I was quite confused about the importance of some of the characters that the author introduced. I really liked how the author described all these new types of creatures and plants in her book, she described each one almost perfectly. She pointed out the texture, color, flavor, even the smell of the fruits that were created in their lab. The thing that I disliked about the book was the way that some characters were introduced, but then either they were never fully explained as to why they were brought up, or they were just included for that one part, or conversation.
I would recommend this book for people who like the kind of fantasy books with soulmates in them. It has just the right amount of mystery to it that makes you want to know how the author is going to explain how the soulmate process works in her world. There are only a few erotic scenes in the book, and although they are not terribly descriptive, so I would not recommend this book to children or even young adults. The book does have a relatively vulgar vocabulary at times as well.
I would have to rate The Soulmate Prophecy - Book One- The Birth by Yasmina Haque a 3 out of 4 stars. I gave this book a 3 out of 4 stars because of the amount of grammatical errors in the book. The book doesn't have as much romance in it as I was expecting, especially with the title it has, but all together it was a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
