The Soulmate Prophecy, Book 1-The Birth, was beautifully written by Yasmina Haque, as she allows Love to take us on a journey through time and space. The story marries Science with New Age thinking so intimately that the reader can safely enter a world where anything feels possible, even the magic of finding a soulmate.
The best part of the book for me was the concept of believing in soulmates, not many writers I have read have ventured there and it was a pleasure to be part of that world view. I sincerely believe the author did and excellent job at bringing the story to life, I almost moved to north Michigan after reading how amazing it would be to see the seasons change. The rainforest and even the characters I could see clearly, every strand of platinum hair.
I didn’t enjoy reading about Lovelin’s poor view of herself, which was very contradictory at times, a beautiful Sphinx who outlines the law she lives by, “I try not to let the little stuff bother me”, yet feels “washed up at 36 after 4 New York Bestsellers”. Then further spirals by blaming men for where she has gotten in life, or the lack of reach she has had. “I would never accomplish all my educational goals, if I let men get in the way”, the statement I am sure is not foreign to us, we hear all the time about what order we should live our lives. However, maybe none of us would be here right now if we tried to tell our ancestors that getting involved with the opposite sex hampers your life’s goals. Kaelyn however was more of a contrast with the amount of self love he poured on himself daily, which was ultimately refreshing to read.
Lastly I did not enjoy the ending of the book as it really left me wanting more, I am left longing for the souls to finally reunite as much as they are.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I do recommend others to read the book as the message of the writer is a Universal one that all of Humanity should be part of if we are to survive as a species and continue along our evolutionary path.
(Hence it wasn’t rated a 2.) I did enjoy reading it on a general note, but it wasn’t the best book that I have read. (Hence not rated a 4). The best books I’ve read have been able to move me to tears and I look forward to Book 2 to arouse me more than in a sexual manner.
Which brings me to a more adventurous note. I especially enjoyed the erotic scenes, which in my opinion, there were plenty to go around. There was an overall air of sensuality on the plane breathed by all the passengers that will forever stain my mind. One can’t help but admire Lovelin’s drive for the passions that sustain our very life. Sex. The carnal nature of her persona, her almost naughty thoughts about Deirdre, was very appealing to the mind only dulled by the fact that it wasn’t the Underground God entering her that night on the plane.
I’m inclined to say the book should be recommended to young persons both male and female 20-30years of age, but to do so would be an injustice. Although the book is called The Soulmate Prophecy, it doesn’t just address teenage love and sexcapades on a plane. We cannot continue to deny the interconnectedness of us all, and the implications humanity has on Mother Earth, which is why there was even a need for an Underground facility. Readers every where on planet earth need to be reminded of true unconditional love, no matter age or gender and their personal preferences. Thank you Yasmina Haque, I enjoyed the experience and I look forward to Book 2.
