“Where is the big ministry, the mass choir, the orchestra, the mission to other countries, pastors, associates, assistants, administration?”. “Where is my house, car, business, and all the good stuff you promised before marriage?”

Pastoring is not what you think by Elijah Oladimeji is about the life of a Pastor that whatever they do is very different from your own perspective or what you think about them. They do have dreams in life, they do have family and relative to cherish, they do have feelings that need to be heard, because they are also a human being like us, only different in profession; but when we hear the word pastor, we didn’t notice their personal life, we define them as a messenger of God whose duty is to preach the gospel and nothing else. This book can be an eye-opener to people who have a false interpretation of what Pastor really is. We do have a different interpretation, perspective, and analogy in life, but this book is the key that contains the daily routine of the Pastor that is happening in their real life, and not just an idea only. Elijah Oladimeji wants his readers to know what the pastor really does and clear their own understanding that pastoring is not just what you think.

I like the book because it gives me faith that no matter what happens, God is always there, guiding and providing me with whatever I need in my life. The book is very inspirational and motivational, the testimonies that written in this book is real since nothing is impossible in God, and no matter how big or small your problem is, God is there to answer all your prayers and teach you to have faith in your life. What I didn’t like is how the verses and scriptures were written in the book, it makes me bored.

I recommend this book to those people who want to know more about the life of a Pastor, and also people who want to have inspirational and motivational testimonies. If you are that person then grab a copy and start reading this book.

I rate it 3 out of 4 stars because I like the book very much. I didn’t rate it 4 because there is this grammar error that needs to be fixed. I didn’t rate it 2 because I want everyone to read this book and it is recommendable to those people who can read and understand.
