The story unfolds as Tom's camping trip is been disorganized as Ruth, Tom's ex wife brings him a stranger whom is said to be his twelve years old granddaughter "Sarah". As the camping could not be forfeited Tom, his friend Williams and Williams' daughter Myra decides to take Sarah on the camping trip which Tom intended to use as a means of returning an artifact which held in it mysteries of their existence. It was a thrower made from mammoth bones.

Their camping trip was a rough one but it gets rougher as it takes an unexpected turn as Sarah gets missing in the hills. There a brand new adventure comes to play as hot headed Sarah experiences an adventure of her own. She is been regarded as a tree person and was held captive by people who traded women for razor stones. She is taken to be wife to razor stone people once she becomes a true woman.

Their journey to where the razor stone people lived "the place where people are" gets rough as they are been attacked by by bears, wild cats and sea monsters. There she meets people whom she gave names, thin hair, fat hair. Many of those on the journey loses their lives but Sarah remains strong and steadfast, there she was given the name "strong heart" because of her good spirit. She is surrounded by mysteries but some how she gets home to Tom.

She tells her stories to Tom, Williams, Myra and then to the scientist Sergei who helps her decipher her revealing. She tells of ancient history of how humans were formed and facts of existence of mammoths sixty thousand years ago as well as extinct bears on the hills.

The writer tells a story concerning the ancient traditions, histories and findings of scientists. She brings out in her novel the fantasy to historians, archeologists and scientists. To the lovers of adventure filled novels she creates delight. The mystery in the novel is an intensifying one as she brings to light things your imaginations can never bring to play.

The writer has the capability of bringing out the best in her works but lack the ability to put in characters which are understandable. Her method of naming though based on a child's fantasy somehow seems confusing and very hard to state out the genders of her characters but disregarding her naming, the novel is interesting
