Charlie Sheldon's Strong Heart published by IronTwine Press is a nice piece of work from an artistic mind. Strong Heart is a Fictional Novel with good historical setting. The Author, Charlie Sheldon, tactfully weaved in forty four chapters, the story of human origin, early human settlements, activities and artifacts around a simple little family and few of their friends. The theme of Strong Heart is the idea of what it was like in the time of early men and our present connectedness with the ages past.
Charlie Sheldon's Strong Heart, though a fiction, yet opens up certain archaeological findings and arguments which keeps the reader glued to the book with rapt interest. Thus the work is scientifically and academically insightful. What actually took place in the areas we occupy today many decades and thousands of years ago? The author tactfully provided a sketch Map of the area near the Olympic Pacific Ocean and the National Park where this wonderful adventure took place.
The Novel sets out with the story of Tom, an elderly man who with his close friend William and Myra, William’s daughter prepares to embark on an adventure to pay the last respect to Tom's grandfather by lying to rest his remains. However the sudden appearance of Sarah, Tom's granddaughter marked the beginning of another unforeseen adventure which will form the kernel of the whole storyline of the book. This gives the general feeling that the novel contains two good stories in one book. As they go into the mountain in search of Tom's grandfather's remains, they discovered the ancient artifact the atlatl, which triggered off great sequence of adventure especially the disappearance of Sarah and her reappearance. A very brief time but one filled with strong and powerful out of this world experience of Sarah. This adventure will play great role in the final outcome of the story.
Charlie Sheldon's Strong Heart is an interesting, easy to read piece of work. The book is very informative and captivatingly filled with great suspense. Some issues raised in the novel made me go on further research and inquiries outside the scope of the work. Strong Heart, though a work of fiction, yet the author carried out great academic research to arrive at this masterpiece. However, the question remains if actually, the people that lived some decades or thousands of years have any connectedness to the present day people? Sarah's special adventure, can such actually happen?
Strong Heart is a fictional interesting story well told by an experienced, meticulous storyteller. Each Character in the novel is very unique and contributes a lot to the whole adventure and experience. The book is truly an interestingly, highly informative and captivating piece of fiction. The stories and adventures are so well weaved together that the reader is continuously left spell bound at the end of each chapter.
I rate Charlie Sheldon's book Strong Heart 3 out of 4 stars. This position is informed by the book's strong crib of the reader's imaginative mind. It takes the reader into a fictional adventure which remains intensively real even after putting the book down. The book will appeal to the elderly and younger people. The elderly, as it will help them spend their leisure time well and the young will love the out of this world adventurous story.
