In this book, Cynthia and Dan Cyber Crime by Dorothy May Mercer "Cynthia" emerges as a complex and multidimensional character in the author's Washington McBride Series, particularly highlighted in the stand-alone novel "EMP Honeymoon." In this installment, Cynthia is portrayed as a smart and beautiful woman successfully managing a significant job while simultaneously being on a mission to save the world from terrorism. However, her romantic life takes a stormy turn.
Despite a three-year relationship with Dan lacking passion, Cynthia accidently encountered the mysterious Sky Eastman, changing her love narrative. Succumbing to mutual attraction under the influence of alcohol, Cynthia and Sky engage in a sexual relationship leading to unexpected consequences (pregnancy). The next day, Sky, attempting to rectify the situation, assisted Cynthia in exploring legal options to avoid an unwanted pregnancy.
As the narrative progresses, Cynthia grapples with the aftermath of her personal choices and confronts the sensitive and controversial topic of dealing with an unwanted pregnancy. The author navigates this challenging subject without taking a stance on abortion but provides birth control facts, empowering Cynthia to make her own decisions.
However, the complexity of Cynthia's personal life takes a backseat when she embarks on a daring mission to combat ISIS terrorists and their counterparts in a 21st-century cyber war. Teaming up with young allies Tim and Garth, Cynthia utilizes cutting-edge technology to intercept and sabotage cyber communications worldwide, from ISIS headquarters to North Korea's Supreme Leader.
The novel takes readers on a rollercoaster ride filled with twists and turns, maintaining suspense until the very end. Despite the chaotic romantic entanglements, Cynthia ultimately makes the right choices, surprising readers with the resolution of her character's journey. The juxtaposition of personal struggles and high-stakes global warfare creates a compelling narrative that explores themes of love, morality, and the impact of individual choices on a broader scale. The book is exceptional edited without typographical errors or grammatical errors.
I personally wish this book were developed into a movie because of how interesting it is and how the author painted the images of the book in the minds of the readers. The intimate connection between Cynthia and Sky was not intense, therefore, I don't consider it as a sexual book. I rate this book 4 out of 5. The storyline is incredibly captivating; however, I wish the writer had extended the narrative to elaborate on how Cynthia and Sky's marriage influenced her work productivity or otherwise. Additionally, the book felt like it ended abruptly, which is why I gave it a rating of 4 out of 5.
