"Not Dead Yet" is a fantastic book written by renowned author Mark Fletcher. The author offers his perspective on nursing facilities, as well as the tales that lie within and underneath them, and he shares every treasure with readers through his writing. In contrast to other stories, "Not Dead Yet" is a compilation of the lives of numerous residents in a nursing facility. I find myself standing in a happy moment of accepting life and sobbing for their loss in it, and the varied feelings it evokes really touch me. The poems that were included were excellent. I find that I am more and more living it as I read more into it.
Even if there is no one to look after us, we still have each other; therefore, everyone deserves to be taken care of as we age. The nursing home is a lovely location with a new family to rely on for our final days, not a group of naysayers. I am pleased by the way the author sensitively conveys the various stories in this book and provides many people with hope. The majority of the stories have happy endings, but I think some of them could have used a more poignant conclusion. In the narrative, many characters open up about their pasts; many live as someone else for others; and many recognize that they are not alone. Getting what one deserves is not always simple. But with small supports, we can make a change in someone's life and let them have a peaceful way of living.
This is very overwhelming to me, and I rate it 5 out of 5. No spelling or grammar mistakes were discovered. And except for a very small number of the stories, where it can be difficult to follow who said what in a continuous discussion, I had nothing to hate or rank poorly. I had a lot of feelings; therefore, it took me a while to finish the book because I couldn't read any more without learning to live with them. Some characters' endings were difficult for me to accept because it felt like bidding goodbye to my own grandparents. But it actually makes me happy to know that, no matter how old we get, we never stop being children.
