The Vine, written by Adria L. Dunn is a very emotional and thought provoking book. It contains many stories from individuals explaining their struggles, experiences, families, and how perseverance and hope got them through some very difficult life situations. This book has included stories from individuals from different countries, diverse backgrounds, different economic backgrounds and educational experiences. Each author has described an experience that has shaped his or her life and how that experience has changed their life and many times their way of thinking. Through these life experiences many of the authors have found or created organizations to support both their country and the people of that country to become more educated and compassionate about themselves, where they live, and about other people they will probably never meet. It is very likely that at least one of these stories will speak to you personally. This book is beautifully edited and written. I would recommend reading it in sections to be able to take in each person’s story. Several stories brought me to tears. I believe you will see that hope is a universal theme throughout humanity. I believe this book is a 4 out of 5. It is a very good read.
