Cynthia and Dan by Dorothy May Mercer is a superbly written and edited novel. The author weaves a tale of passion, love, and online combat. With cops, covert agents, ISIS, a president's assassination attempt, and an unforeseen pregnancy, there is lots of drama and suspense. The plot tells of a group of private investigators, soldiers, and computer-nerdy college professors and their interns engaging in cyberwarfare against ISIS. They use a variety of methods that make it easy for the reader to understand; they are so basic that you can't help but laugh at their antics and be shocked at how effective they are.

The author's vivid descriptions and attention to detail transport readers into the world of cyberwarfare and terrorism, making the story feel incredibly real and immersive.
Normally, I do not enjoy cyberwar stories; however, I enjoyed this book due to the suspense and romance in it. I really liked how neither scenario overpowered the other, and they flowed together smoothly. I won't forget to mention how vivid the description of this book was.

When it comes to a book of this kind, attention should be given to the description because this is what keeps readers going. We want a description that will be able to create a beautiful picture in the minds of readers. The author deserves accolades with regards to how he described the characters in this book.

There were a few notable obstructions while reading. I observed that the stories in each chapter didn't end well. I felt like the author wanted to carry all the themes along, but there were a lot of contradictions in them. Also, Sky plays a more active role than Dan, which isn't supposed to be so considering the book title. With these in mind, I would rate this book four out of five stars. This rating was due to the dislikes encountered.

I would recommend this book to lovers of crime thrillers, politics, and romance. I am also delighted to mention that this book contained no errors, which shows it was exceptionally edited.
