They say no man is an Island and a lot is achieved when we work collectively. "The Vine" by Adria L. Dunn is a book about hope. Reading "The Vine" has been an encouraging and uplifting experience. It is a book that will be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age or cultural background.

Difficult times in life will come at one point or another regardless of wealth, skin color or cultural backgrounds. Pandemics, natural disasters, illnesses, corruption, poverty, conflicts are some of the many hardships people face all over the world.

Reading "The Vine" which is comprised of different stories of hope from all over the world has given me a new perspective towards life itself. It's easy to dwell on your own problems as well as happiness and forget that the succession of life is dependent on other human beings regardless of their status and where they come from.

We can all agree that global or national problems like pandemics and other disasters bring us together as a people in desperate need of trying to combat such problems to survive. I appreciate how each story from every individual in this book is encouraging us to do something for others no matter how little it may be. When we start thinking of others and seeing every individual as of importance as ourselves, we create a world filled with hope.

Everyone who shared their story in this book has faced their own share of pain, loss and unimaginable hardships. However, they all came to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Their selflessness to not only embrace the hope for themselves but create ways to share that hope with other people, some even strangers they have never met and never will meet is truly challenging to the heart.

This perception towards life is what every human being needs. As His Holiness The Dalai Lama puts it, we need to think of 'us' and not 'them' to live in a peaceful world. The peace starts within every individual and spreads to others.

I have rated this book 5/5 and I highly recommend this book to everyone because it is crucial to instilling a heart of oneness and love for all humanity. Learning of what others have gone through and are doing can be a key to you and I doing something worth while to promote love and unity.

However, I suggest that the introduction be a conclusion to all the shared stories because what His Holiness The Dalai Lama says sums up every experience shared as well as the hope found in every situation. His recommendations on peace itself is a solution to us living hopeful lives.
