Review of Entanglement - Quantum and Otherwise
Entanglement - Quantum and Otherwise is a captivating novel by John K. Danenbarger that delves into the themes of quantum entanglement, family, and love. Spanning 60 years, the story follows the interconnected lives of eight individuals.
The narrative commences with Geena Nuss, who receives a letter notifying her of her father's, Kevin Nuss, passing. This compels Geena to return to her hometown to attend his funeral.
While in her hometown, Geena reconnects with Joe Tink, an old family friend who shared a close bond with her father. Joe claims to have known Kevin better than anyone else, and he proceeds to unveil tales from Kevin's past.
Through Joe's narratives, Geena unearths the concealed secrets her father kept from her. A world of discovery awaits the reader within the pages of this book.
Entanglement is a riveting and intricate novel that delves into the darker aspects of human nature. It explores the power of secrets, the perils of quantum entanglement, and the significance of family.
The novel sheds light on the concept of quantum entanglement. Quantum entanglement suggests that two particles can be connected in such a manner that they share the same destiny, regardless of their distance apart. This concept serves as a backdrop to contemplate fate and free will in the novel.
I found the book enjoyable for several reasons. The characters are well-crafted and believable. Geena Nuss is a complex and relatable protagonist who confronts her own haunting past as she unravels the truth about her father. Joe Tink, a wise and empathetic character, assists Geena in understanding both her father and herself.
The plot of the novel maintains a well-paced and suspenseful rhythm. The author skillfully keeps the reader guessing about what lies ahead. The story is replete with unexpected twists and turns that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
The themes explored in the novel are intricate and thought-provoking. The author adeptly examines the nature of reality, the power of secrets, and the significance of family. These themes linger in the reader's mind long after the final page.
My only reservation about this book pertains to the complexity of the opening section. The initial few pages were challenging to follow, as if I had entered the middle of an existing series. However, as I progressed, the purpose of the opening section became clearer. Despite this, I recognize that the author chose this style intentionally, and it does not diminish my overall rating of the book.
I wholeheartedly rate this book 5 out of 5 stars due to the well-developed and believable characters, the well-paced and suspenseful plot, and the complex and thought-provoking themes it explores. The book, consisting of 405 pages, is devoid of errors.
I highly recommend this novel to readers who relish intricate and suspenseful stories that delve into the darker aspects of human nature. Additionally, those with an interest in mathematics and science will find this book intriguing. However, due to its sexual content and violence, this book is not suitable for young readers.
