Binge by Anne Pfeffer is a wonderful book showing what it is to live with your flaws and everyday struggles while meeting societal parameters. I am happy that I chose this book, and I enjoyed reading every bit of it. This is the story of an overweight girl, Sabrina Hunter, who works as an assistant in a talent company and aspires to become a best-selling author. One day, she was thrilled to see that one publishing house had offered to launch her book. There begins the roller-coaster ride of her life. She wants to shed a few extra pounds, look skinny and fabulous at the book launch, and have her dream man right by her side. The book describes the struggles and insecurities of an overweight girl who wants to fit in and be well-accepted by society. Little does she know that she is amazing and beautiful the way she is. Will she be able to get what she wants by the Seventeenth of July, the day of her book launch?

I am impressed by the wit and humour of the author. She used it so beautifully in the book and made it look very natural. There are instances in the book where many of us would relate to the situation and respond in the same way as she does. I liked how she followed "mindful eating" habits and did not go on any crash diets to address her overeating habits and lose weight. She speaks from her heart, and her equation with Daniel felt so real and relatable. Other characters in the book are also interesting, and the author touched on some societal issues through these characters and how they battled their addictions, which is commendable.

In particular, there is nothing that I dislike about this book. The tone of the book is perfect to establish the fact that self-acceptance is important and that it is okay to not be okay.

Overall, the book is well-edited except for one spelling error and minor grammatical notes. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because of the subject and how it is presented. By far, this is the best book that I have read.

The book is not recommended for minors, but adults who are interested in reading light-hearted, realistic, full-of-life books should go for it.
