Review of Entanglement - Quantum and Otherwise
The story begins with young Joe being there for young Beth. One soul shows compassion for another. A random act? Likely. Fate? Probably. A scientific quantum formula predesigned by the universe so that we could get Entanglement quantum and otherwise? Hmm, now there’s an interesting theory.
From these two seemingly random characters, we are acquainted with Martin, Kevin, Florie, Davis, Ellen, Geena, and Carl. A cruise ship trip to Bermuda turns out to be quite eventful, as things don’t go as planned. For some more than others. Murder, money laundering, revenge, and slavery? Yes, and slavery. These vices seem to rule the world of Entanglement Quantum and Otherwise. When the worlds of unlikely people collide, held together by a myriad of secrets and their paths entangled by fate, or maybe even mother nature, we get a novel, a masterpiece. We get Entanglement Quantum and Otherwise
John Danenbarger provides different perspectives on the characters and their stories. Kevin is a cop who is cool, calm, and collected until he’s not. Kevin has seen some things. He has done some things. How will his past, present, and future entangle? Martin, a renowned professor, is on the verge of a breakthrough. It’s going to be big—the discovery, I mean. Ellen, a PhD student doing some research, a mom, and an ex-wife, has had an exciting life recently, to say the least. How do the different parts of her life tangle up? How can she untangle them?
The narration in the book is really fantastic. The author uses the third person except for one of the characters, for whom he uses the first-person pronoun. This is quite refreshing since it breaks the monotony and is quite unique. The use and choice of this vast and expertly used vocabulary are truly commendable. The vivid description is top-notch. Flashbacks and foreshadowing. It's not their mere presence that fascinates me, but how effortlessly the writer seems to blend them into the plot. This level of skill is admirable. Props to the editors. They really did their job.
The only thing that I can find disadvantageous about the book is how readers who aren’t up to the task will miss out. As one of the other reviews put it, if you like easy reading, you will not like it. So, by "up to the task", I mean consuming word after word, page after page, without skipping or skimming.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to fans of crime, drama, and thrillers.
