"Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War" is a thrilling novel about Cynthia, a bodyguard for a US senator, who gets caught up in a dangerous investigation involving cyber terrorism. Alongside her brother, Glenn, they work to prevent a looming cyberwar after discovering an ISIS attempt to attack the president using a drone. Amidst the chaos, Cynthia struggles with her failing relationship with Dan and finds comfort in the charming Sky, with whom she shares a one-night stand. As the investigation progresses, the characters are faced with unexpected challenges and must work together to uncover the truth behind the attack on the White House.

There are two major things I liked about the book. The first was the unique and interesting storyline that captured my thoughts and engaged me through the book. My second biggest love for the book was its fast-paced nature, which kept me engaged from start to finish. Additionally, the descriptions were perfectly crafted, adding depth and richness to the story. The author's ability to convey a scene with just the right amount of detail was truly impressive and contributed significantly to the overall quality of the book's writing. I found myself fully immersed in the world that the author had created, and the combination of the pace and descriptions worked together beautifully to create a truly memorable reading experience.

I would be remiss not to mention the flaws of this book, which I found to have spoilt my 100% enjoyment of the book. The character development in this book was bad; apart from Cynthia, the lead character, every other character was either poorly developed in the book or lacked quality. Another dislike I had for the book was its romantic aspect; the love triangle between Dan, Cynthia, and Sky was very unrealistic.

My rating for Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War is 4 out of 5 stars. The reason for this rating is that the book had a perfect flow and storyline, but the problem is that the author did little to invest in the characters. This book had zero errors or grammatical typos, which shows it underwent expert editing. I do recommend this book to lovers of crime stories. I think half of the readers out there will love Dorothy May Mercer's book.
