The Sword Swallower and a Chico Kid is one book that is motivational and deals with sensitive issues. It focuses on the lives of two individuals, Duke Reynolds and Gary Robinson. A glimpse into the circus world will also entice you. The Sword Swallower and a Chico Kid by Gary Robinson tells the tales of daring risks, adventures, and decisions in life.

Two out of the three parts of the story span through the lives of Duke Reynolds, who is the sword swallower, and fifteen-year-old Gary Robinson. In the first part, the life of the sword swallower was revealed, including how he frequently got into trouble and his addiction to alcohol. The second part about the Chico kid, Gary, is not any different. He possessed a gregarious personality and was addicted to certain vices, which included skipping school and classes to party and drinking excessively. The third part is the one I appreciated the most. It showed how both characters eventually met each other and helped each other grow and improve on their weaknesses.

The writing style employed by the author is impressive, and I love that he was detailed in the narration and description of the characters and events in the book.

Friendship is another subject that was of immense value in The Sword Swallower and a Chico Kid. I learned how friendship, when sincere, not toxic, and real, can have a huge and positive impact on one's life.

I was able to sympathize with Gary, who went through a series of emotional abuse, and I could understand his quest and burning desire to find someone who would offer him true love. This part brought out my sensitive side.

I also learned from the characters' bad decisions and how it is important that things like that are best avoided in order to avoid destructive endings and situations.

One thing I will not fail to mention is how much the writer focused on alcohol and its adverse effects because he had been a major participant in its addiction. This part will teach a lot of readers that it should be taken in moderate amounts and quantities. It would also help prevent a lot of the mishaps that alcohol addiction is likely to cause. I found nothing negative about this book.

Rating The Sword Swallower and a Chico Kid five out of five stars is highly deserving due to the fact that it is without errors and was thoroughly edited.
Gary Robinson's book will be beneficial to readers who will like to make the most of their lives as well as those who so much desire to let go of unhealthy living habits.
