Review of JTs World
John Thurgood Thomas, known as JT by his friend, is the owner of JT's World, a place that offers varieties of entertainment, a bar, and lodging experiences in Scottsdale, Arizona. This place witnessed the murder of its star singer Mika due to mistaken identity, ruining its grand opening. After this event, JT sets out with his cowhands to purchase cattle for his ranch on the insistance of his daughter to get away for a while. He leaves the continuous development of his ranch and JT's World to Jamie and his adopted daughter Madeline. This journey turns out to be an adventure filled with bad men, outlaws, murder, new friends, near-death experiences, and a second love. You would want to read this book to find out how this adventure happened.
JTs World by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book that takes place in the Western scene. This book is not just about JT's world as a place, but more about the adventures of JT. There were some intriguing moments in this book that brought me to tears, like the awesome generosity of JT toward Mrs. Callahan and her children on the train though they were strangers. JT was my favorite character because he was kind, generous, smart, a gentleman and always willing to help, although since he lost his first love, he seems like a man searching for something. What that means, even he does not know, but he discovered it all in his second love. JT somehow has the ability to draw people in, especially women, to himself, earning both good friends and outlaws who want to kill him.
Chip's southern accent was another thing I found interesting in the book; it was simply adorable. Though I wished the author had done more for him at the end because he was stuck being Theodore's bodyguard and nothing was said about whether he got accepted to be a Tommie, and that was not fair considering Chip's skills and all he has been through with JT.
There were times when the events in the book seemed to drag, but the later actions helped to compensate for it. There were gory killing scenes that seemed cruel to me, even though they involved bad people. And I was fascinated by the way reincarnation was presented in the book. I love the author's descriptive skill and the way he was able to make this book, though the last in a series, seem like a standalone by showing you the backstory of some characters, which somehow makes you want to read the previous series. This book includes romance, lost love, acceptance, closure, and good development of the different characters.
I found nothing I disliked about the book, though there were lots of profane words used and killing scenes. Also, I found no errors in this book, so I believe it was well edited. Therefore, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to young adults and those who love books about adventure and romance.
