Man Mission by Eytan Uliel had me laughing until I cried.

This other-fiction book is retold from a male’s point of view about his experiences with "man missions," involving himself and his friends trekking around the world on different adventures, with the ultimate goal being to make the adventures as manly and challenging as possible.

Well, for starters, the amount of description in this book was amazing. I find that sometimes for other books, the author puts a lot of attention to detail around developing and describing the characters, but the scenery detail is left out, so your imagination has trouble picturing the setting. In Uliel’s case, he had no trouble with this. He not only described the night sky so well in detail, but he also used different ways to describe it, which I found fascinating.

Another aspect I really enjoyed about this book was that it really brought me back to my memories as a teenager—particularly the scene where the characters heard a noise outside their tent—which not only had me nodding along, agreeing with the experience, but also had me in fits of laughter.

Normally I read books from a woman’s perspective, so it was quite refreshing to have a male’s perspective on not only adventuring but also with regards to relationships—romantic as well as friendships. There was also a lot of depth to this as well—it made me question why people cheat in a relationship and that there may not be only one person to blame in that scenario.

I can honestly say that I have nothing negative to say about this book. I enjoyed it the whole way through and didn’t find myself questioning or wanting more explanation about the setting or to round out the characters more.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. As I’ve said above, I couldn’t find one negative point about this book, and I didn’t want it to end. I noticed the author had written several blog posts, which I devoured as eagerly as I devoured this book.

I would recommend this book for mature audiences (due to the profanity). I would say you would need to be at least 15 years old to read this book, and I strongly believe that anyone from any walk of life can read it, whether you are an avid traveller yourself or a homebody who just wants to dream. No matter where you come from, you will love this book and just want to hear more about these characters' amazing and hilarious adventures.
