This historical fiction novel is set in the wild west. JT’s World is a newly built family destination with a Ferris wheel, carousels, and an entire town built around the amusement. JT is the wealthy founder. After violence erupts at the grand opening of JT’s World, JT journeys to purchase cattle with his trusted farm hand Buck. Along the way, he meets a cast of characters both friends and foes who change his life forever. His generosity knows no bounds, improving the lives of all the good people he encounters. JT is an excellent shot, as quick to dole out justice as he is to share his prosperity. He is also healing from the loss of his beloved fiancé. Through the travels he grows, heals, and perhaps finds love again.

JT’s World by E. Alan Fleischauer is more than just a gun slinging Western. The characters grow, love stories develop and there are several intriguing side plots along the way as the main characters venture off the beaten trail. Using detailed scenery and vivid imagery the author pulls the reader into the Wild West and keeps the reader rooting for the good guys through every gunfight and ambush. The conflict is believable and there is just enough doubt about the good guy’s survival to maintain the reader's interest. This book is the last installment in this series, but it read well as a stand-alone book with no prior knowledge of the characters required.

As expected in any Western, there is ample violence in this novel. However, this is more than just a few shootouts. The author does a particularly vivid and gruesome job of describing some of the deaths and the violent carnage. There are many beautiful character stories in this book that would appeal to a large audience of people, even those who have never read Westerns before. But those who do venture into the book need a strong stomach for the gruesome details.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for being a well-edited and fast-paced Western that kept my interest throughout and was an overall thoroughly enjoyable read. The gruesome violence was a little much at points, but may be considered typical for this genre and was not overwhelming enough to merit a deduction in the rating.

I recommend this book to mature audiences about sixteen and up. This is due to detailed violence, prostitution, and some light intimate scenes.
