McDowell by William H. Coles is the fictional biography of Hiram McDowell, who was a well-known surgeon and a skilled mountain climber. Hiram also got married to three wives. After the death of his second wife, Sophie and Billie's mother, he got married to his third wife, Carole, who is a widow. He also had three children, Billie, Ann, and Sophie.

Hiram lived with Carole, who took care of all his children. Hiram was dishonest and unfaithful, as he had relationships with several women outside of marriage. He was also self-centered and manipulative. Hiram became the president of the board of the College of Surgeons after betraying his colleague named Michael O'Leary. Hiram promised Michael that he would hold the position of president of the healthcare task force, but he didn't fulfill his promise. He deceived Michael to get what he wanted. Michael then accused Hiram of scientific malpractice in the lab as a way to get revenge and get back at Hiram. Hiram also has issues in his family, as his son impregnated his stepsister Tracy due to a lack of proper upbringing. Get a copy of this book to find out how life turned out for Hiram McDowell.

There are many positive aspects to this book, but what I loved the most is how the book ended. Hiram realized his mistakes and bad decisions and tried to amend them. The story of Hiram McDowell was really interesting to read. I enjoyed the book as it came with a lot of surprises and different plot twists. I also got to learn the importance of honesty and the need to desist from greed and betrayal. I like how the book was divided into two sections. I also like the author's choice of words in writing this book. It was easy to comprehend, and it made reading an enjoyable experience as I didn't experience any form of difficulty while reading the book. This book teaches us a lot about life, as there are many moral lessons in it.

I didn't find anything wrong with the book. The only thing I didn't find comfortable while reading this book was the fact that Hiram and his wife didn't care about the children, which caused a lot of problems for his family. It was really a fascinating book. The characters were well developed. I also like the author's use of dialogue. The book was free of any form of grammatical error. This shows that it was exceptionally well edited.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It deserves a perfect rating because of the positive aspects of the book. I recommend this book to adults who love fictional books because they will find it interesting to read and there is a lot to learn from the book.
