Death attracts an audience, especially if it is due to murder. Now, how much more attractive would a grand opening be if their main performer happened to be murdered with a bowling pin from their bowling alley? On the grand opening day of JTs World, a destination for adults and families just outside of Scottsdale, Arizona, there was also the murdered body of Mika Shipley. She was to perform on a regular basis at the soon-to-be-completed theater. This might have been the first murder, but it wasn’t the last by far!

In this book, we follow the developments in JTs world and its struggles. We follow JT and his crew when they go to buy cattle and also when JT partners up with Chip to hunt down twin bounty hunters, one of whom shot him in the shoulder. We learn of love at first sight and the struggles of moving forward after having lost a life partner. There is a trial where the outlaws try everything to get off. This book will keep you engaged and wondering what happens next. The different characters are easy to keep track of and differentiate, and of course, there is romance in this book as well. There are a lot of bad guys in this book!

This book is set in a Wild West scene with cattle riders, sheriffs, and bounty hunters chasing the bounty on wanted outlaws—dead or alive, spoiled doves (prostitutes), gunslingers, and love. I absolutely loved the main storyline and the smaller stories weaved into it, and how they later became part of the whole. This book includes family responsibilities, pride, and honor. There is a lot of killing in this book, but it suits the western scene. I was quite flabbergasted about the one scene where a guy was shot and killed, but there was no mention of the sheriff coming over and investigating. I learned this is how it worked in those times, and killing outlaws was the norm and also fair game.

I found a few mistakes and errors in this book. This gives me the impression that this book has been professionally edited. I would rate JTs World by E. Alan Fleischauer 4 out of 5 stars. I absolutely enjoyed the flow and fast pace of this book. The author did an amazing job with his descriptions and storytelling. I could see and smell everything described. There were a few references to religion, and one passage pulled me in, Page 96: "Would the Good Lord punish him?" "Thou shalt not kill" was one of the Ten Commandments. He wondered if that applied to war and self-defense. JT sighed." This definitely made me think and although there are a few Christian referrals, this book is suitable for all religions.

This was book 5 of this series, but it can definitely work as a standalone book. I would recommend this book to people who love Westerns and cowboys-and-crooks types of stories. This book was filled with suspense and adventures, with danger around every corner. This book includes some explicit descriptions and borderline profanity, but it wasn’t too much and suited the book. If you love a book that gives you absolutely no indication of what will happen next, this book is definitely for you!
