JT’s World by E. Alan Fleischauer begins as we meet our main man John Thurgood Thomas also known as JT to most of the people around him. A cold-blooded murder has just occurred in his amusement park just before its long-awaited opening. The murder occurs in an odd place in the amusement park and this sets the pace for the entire book. The reader is pulled into this world of murder, suspicion, betrayal, and adventure as JT and his companions follow subsequent murders and other mishaps that occur throughout the book.

This is a western style novel so one should expect action-packed sequences with unexpected twists and turns. With the opening of the park being halted, catching the killer is of utmost importance. The series of events that occur during this journey makes for an interesting read. With new and old friends as well as unexpected enemies JT makes along the way will he be able to survive this particular hurdle? One will have to read to find out.

I liked how the author lays out the fight scenes. They are very detailed and one can easily picture the scene that is taking place. I also really enjoyed that a lot of these fight scenes take place in saloons which is a western novel staple. The roguish nature of the land is well described in the book with criminals and outlaws at every corner. This is truly the wild west. Every character in the book has an interesting backstory and the author gives them tangible qualities that the reader can relate to. The book is well structured and even though there are other books in the series this can exist as a standalone novel.

There is a lot of violence and death in the book. If this is something that would affect a reader then they should not pick it up. Other themes include friendship and kinship as well as love where there are characters who fall in love with each other. I liked reading about the cowboys and their shenanigans. I also found the cover of the book to be very apt with the themes and the layout of the book. I did not dislike anything about this book.

I rate this book five out of five stars as it is exceptionally well-edited as it has a pretty solid storyline. I would recommend this book to adult readers who like western themed novels and wouldn’t mind the violence.
