Visting With An Angel is a book full of fiction by Jerry.A.Greenberg. The book has nineteen chapters which revolves around a seventy-five years old widower who is a retired insurance agent as well as an artist.

The book opens with it's main character, Jerry Greenberg, whom I realised bears the same name as the author for some reason, thinking about his past life.Jerry is an old man struggling to come to terms with his changing reality. In the years following the demise of his close relatives and the relocation of his two children, Jerry finds himself more and more detached from the world. He feels alone. This change of circumstances lead him to question whether his past actions have been based on his true character or were influenced by the actions of his long dead ancestors. These reflections give him a strong desire to reconnect to his old community and he decides to visit the cemetery, where his family members are all buried. While there, he gets a feeling of belonging. On his return trip,he is momentarily lost in the past, making it seem real. His grandfather's department store is open and both his grandfather and father are alive! He meets people who are long dead but he is happy and doesn't find the situation odd.

Not long after that, he encounters an unexpected visit from a mysterious entity who claims to be an Angel. Jerry thinks the reason for the Angel's visit is because he is dead, however the Angel reassures him that the reason for his visit is far from that. The Angel says his reason for visiting Jerry is because of his recent struggles with life and wants to help him reconnect to the world. The Angel visits Jerry several times.Later, he meets a woman called Evelyn who is two years his junior. She introduces him to her small group of friends.Jerry slowly makes new friends. However, suprising twists and turn of events follows. Can Jerry really rediscover himself and reconnect to a world he has become estranged with? Find out more in this book.

There are a lot of interesting things I appreciated about this book. First things first, the book is told at a reasonable pace that kills your boredom and captivates your mind within a few pages, making you want to read more and more of it's content. It's amazingly simplified grammar makes it absolutely easy to read, and more importantly, strange Jewish words are defined as soon as they are introduced. The story provides Jerry's history making it easy to understand his origin and the cause of his present situation.I also liked the writer's philosophical point of views about life. The story also covers religion and issues related to beliefs.

I am going to give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars because there was nothing I disliked about the book, I did not find any error, marking it's professional and carefully work in the critical field of editing.

I would recommend this book to all lovers of books related to religion, beliefs, family and philosophy. There is no content that would be considered harmful to young readers, making the book suitable for people of all ages.
