With a man plotting to murder him, JT Thomas feels the need to run away from his life, but he cannot seem to create another. After he lost the love of his life, he adopted her daughter, Madeline. His pain, however, does not seem to allow him to love again, or at least not to love as much as he did Annabelle. A thrilling adventure, JT’s World explores the human mind as well as its character through the build of the action and the relationship tension between people.

Out of everything, I loved most the way in which the book was written, its flow. E. Alan Fleischauer managed to write a book that is easy to read, a pleasure to laugh about and a matter to be sad and ponder on. Characters such as Buck keep the writing light with his simple jokes and his inability to read a room, and characters like Madeline develop as the world changes, while JT stays the same generous man. The fast pace of the book takes the story from one plot to another while explaining what is happening now or letting the reader figure it out a few pages later. From a small mission of acquiring cattle to trying to capture gang members with Chip, adventure awaits hidden behind every new person we meet. There are so many questions this book posits that it later answers!

To be honest, I am not the most excited fan when it comes to Western series, there is not much I did not like about this book. The editing was exceptional; I could not find any mistakes! However, the fact that the main character seemed to lack any flaws made him a tad unrelatable to me. A person that is always hopeful and generous could be someone to look up to, but they might as well be someone that does not even exist, so this book is living up to its category as fiction.

Nonetheless, these reasons seem more of a personal preference to me, and I do not think I should make any reductions to the score because of them. I give this book a rating of four out of four stars, with the mention that it is a fun book that explores human emotions in a way, and in a context that highlights an imaginary world in the author’s mind.

I would recommend this book to people that like adventure and stories of ranches and cowboys. On the other hand, if you do not like murder scenes or profanities, you might want to check out some other series. But if you like both a romantic western story and a good murder-mystery, this book is for you!
