Guns have had their origins in Europe where they quickly eclipsed bows, arrows and swords. The musket, its original ancestor, had a devastating effect as the combination of gunpowder and musket balls was guaranteed to inflict a lot of pain and cause morbid damage to the human body. So as the Europeans conquered more and more land, the gun found its way to more and more destructive hands. Consequently, this weapon is the cause of many people’s deaths; both intentionally and accidentally.

This book begins eerily with bloodshed, as one would expect in the Wild West era. A woman is discovered dead in the bowling alley at JT’s new entertainment complex. Her husband and her lover accuse one another for the crime and end up dying at each other’s hands. Unfortunately, the real killer is a great enemy of JT, the proprietor, and he has just missed his shot as he intended to kill his turncoat daughter. Why a person would want to kill this generous, hard-working cowboy is beyond everyone’s thoughts. JT Thomas pretty much runs afoul of many outlaws who threaten to end his life on many occasions. Nevertheless, his lovely nature, bravery and kindness help him find, save and change a couple of peoples’ lives. In turn, they have his back all the way.

This book is highly descriptive; with so many horrific scenes involving shooting and mutilation. These scenes cause the book not to be appropriate for the faint of heart. It may cause nightmares. Otherwise, the storytelling is energetic, highly involving, and it constantly changes from an uneventful lull to a high octane event that involve horse chases with guns blazing. I was ultimately hooked to the story! The book is simple to read, understand and follow through as there are so many characters involved in JT’s World. E. Alan Fleischauer does an elegant job of merging all these people with different origins and backstories into one novel. It is simply amazing that all the events in the book build up on each other exquisitely.

This book has no negative features in it. However, it is the last book in a series of novels, meaning: a one reads through the story, they may come across some events that may have taken place further in time and such events directly affect a given character in the book. This does not stop the reader from continuously enjoying the book after getting over prior confusion.

JT’s World appears to be exceptionally well-edited, as there were no errors present in the book. There are some profane words within which may not be appropriate for a polite and young audience. I would recommend this book to an audience of historical fiction and adventure fans. I rate this book four out of four stars.
