Review of JTs World
JTs World by E. Alan Fleischauer opens with the murder of a woman on the opening day of John Thurgood—JT—Thomas's grandiose amusement park, which features a Ferris wheel and a theater, with JT's ward, Madeline as the star attraction. The murder puts a damper on things, but that is only a foretaste of the many twists contained in this novel.
Set in the American West, JTs World takes readers back to the days when gunslingers, ever quick to draw their weapons, were the order of the day. It regales us with tales of JT's experiences; from being a knight in shining armor, to joining forces with a bounty hunter to capture criminals, and even the highs and lows of love, JTs World is a thrilling ride that promises to keep you on the edge of your seat.
JT is a typical westerner; he's courageous, honorable and chivalrous, with his ever present Stetson and colt 45. He has hero and gentleman written all over him, and he's not the type to back down from a fight. JT's generosity is one of the things I admire most about him, his good heart never let him walk away from an opportunity to help others, and it was obvious that he had no ulterior motive. He made charity look easy, and he definitely inspired me to do better.
I enjoyed the vivid descriptions contained in this novel, they transported me to another world. Beautiful skies, rugged mountains, the blazing desert heat and even the delectable meals were described in such detail and I must confess, I was thoroughly tempted to try some of the dishes the characters enjoyed and even to hitch a ride on either of JT's horses, Pete or Re-pete. I commend the author for a job well done. In addition, the author not only provided detailed descriptions of scenes and surroundings, but he also provided adequate descriptions of the characters. There were a number of them, but none of them felt underdeveloped, as the author provided adequate backstories for each of the prominent characters.
JTs World is one of the few books I've read which employs the use of reincarnation, so it's a bit of a strange concept to me. While I might not believe in it, I appreciate how the author employs its use in lessening the pain of death.
Seeing as I have nothing but praise for this book, I rate it four out of four stars. I hardly found any error, which leads me to believe a good editing job was done. JTs World comes as the fifth book in a series, but it can also be enjoyed as a standalone novel. Nevertheless, I guarantee you'll be eager to read the other books in the series after reading this one. So, if you're a fan of action and adventure or even romance, then you're in luck as this book offers all of these. I suggest you find the perfect quiet spot, kick back and delve into this thriller.
