A group of four young men in college initiate a tradition, each year they are to take a week long adventure trip together. They go hiking, biking or kayaking all around the world for fifteen years. Along the way as they grow older they get married, start families, establish careers and do all things required of upright men. But when challenges of the real entangle with the perfect lives they are supposed to be living, their yearly Man Mission becomes more than just an annual getaway. It is now a source of peace and stability, a place to find redemption. Follow these men on their annual quest for meaning and purpose, in a world where the traditional rules of “being a man” are no longer clear.

This book is very enlightening and insightful. Not only does it expose the fun and adventurous side of the trips but it also unpacks the emotional and physical states of the men in mission. The internal struggles and dilemmas that the men face on a regular that even when together in their ‘safe spaces’, they have a difficulty in expressing. I loved the fact that the author always made reference to the bible. At the beginning of each chapter, he made sure to quote a bible verse along with a legendary quote to drive home the point. The author also did a fantastic job with character and geographical development in this book, nowhere did I have to guess who was speaking. I could very well visualize them as they went kayaking across wild oceans, being tossed and turned in the massive and angry wave storms, the rides on very narrow and steep hills and even trekking through the inhospitable of the jungles, on broken ankles and twisted knees. The book has adventure trips and romantic scenes so if you are a fan of a little romance, adventure, exploration and travel all in one book, please do not hesitate to hop in along.

There was nothing I disliked about this book. I enjoyed every bit of it till the end. I did not notice any errors as it was thoroughly well edited. Each paragraph presented a topic of its own and as I said earlier, the book was well cultivated.

The plot and setting that brought it together as a whole was so beautiful and exceptional. I therefore rate Man Mission by Eytan Uliel a 4 out of 4 stars .

I recommend this book to anyone who is down for some adventure, exploration, travel and fun time. They would highly enjoy how lively and well told the book is and the choice of words used in it.
