The Ping Pong Champion of Chinatown by James Hanna explores the life of a beautiful "Gertie Mcdowell". It shows the adventurous life of Gertie, who at some point seemed like she was making way for trouble to come into her life.

Her life is shown to have begun in Turkey, with her dreams and hopes always rooting to establish herself in the entertainment world, but rather her life becomes that entertainment for us, the readers. Gertie dreams of becoming a sensation in the entertainment world, but all that is short-lived when she gets no offers from any production company, but rather gets into beautiful business and friendship with perceted "Nose." Her business with "The Nose" is shown in the book where pictures of her feet were put up on a "foot fetish site" and earned her a short time of stardom and luxury. The story also goes deep into her moving into the fashion world after "retirement" from the foot-entertainment world. Her journey in the fashion world may have looked like the climax of her problems, but Gertie's tale of adventure doesn't end there . We are made to see how she became the ping-pong champion of Chinatown, as well as the numerous experiences she encountered.

The author created his story in an irresistible and humorous manner and portrayed his character as one who had all the odds against her as she fell in and out of trouble. I loved this book because the author had an amazing use of characterization, and the development of the chapters was well structured, and his choice of language and narration is commendable.

I did not find this book wanting. There was nothing to hate about this book as the author put in extra efforts to represent this book in the best way possible. The author did a nice job by making sure that errors wouldn't be found in this book, which made my reading exciting and easy. I just couldn't get enough of the chapters and the new developments in the life of Gertie, as I was always eager to get to a new chapter and discover what was to come in her life.

This is a great and short read. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars and highly recommend this book to all who love fiction and most people who may find themselves in situations like Gertie did, because this book is highly related to most people, including myself.
