Review of Man Mission
Do you know what it feels like to travel around the world with the people you trust the most? Even if it means uprooting yourself from your family and loved ones. People on voyages are always open-minded and curious to find exciting things either on the road or at their preferred destination. Most of the time, friendship goals are the most embraced and cherished memories of human beings. It is a feeling like no other.
Eytan Uliel's adventurous book Man Mission tells the story of four friends who have stuck together for 15 years, observing a tradition of visiting different countries around the world annually despite their wives' disapproval. At some point, they saw it as a means to get away from their troubles and the harsh realities of life. They came across different exciting adventures such as biking in Japan, river kayaking in Australia, visiting the South African national park, chasing the northern lights in Iceland and so many other interesting adventures.
The author widened my thoughts on the culture of different countries mentioned in the book. I found the writer’s sense of humor enticing. While reading the book, I was so curious to find out about the next adventure after reading the previous. The friendship shared by the friends was so genuine and was something to embrace. Even when they were passing through difficult moments, they stayed together. The writer shows that good friendship is one of the best things that life has to offer. I must say it was overwhelming how the author managed the character development, which was the most amazing feature of the book. Positively The writer somehow changed my mindset towards voyages and also made me eager to adopt other people's culture. From reading the book, I got a taste of what it feels like to be a man and also the challenges that will be faced in the near future. I feel like the writer was indirectly passing a message to one to work on himself in order to get ready ahead of time (because time flies).
The things I disliked about the book were how the men used the adventure as a means to get away from their families and life troubles. Responsible men face their fears, not run away from them. which is why I wouldn’t recommend this book for people who haven’t built a strong relationship with their partner. Profane words were used by the author, which I found unnecessary in some scenarios. There were also some sexual encounters, which were briefly described. Younger readers shouldn’t be exposed to some of the words used by the writer.
This book was exceptionally well edited and no errors were found while reading it, which is why I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. I’ll recommend this book for people on voyages, teenagers, and also for individuals who value friendship a lot.
